Scholarship Programs

 Summary: The RMCHB wishes to provide financial assistance to students desiring to attend Florida College and who meet the following criteria.
 

Scholarship #1: Colorado Contributor Scholarship.  

  • Deadline for submission: June 1 before the applicant’s first year at Florida College.  Awards will be announced at Colorado Camp each year. 

  • The applicant must be accepted by Florida College. 

  • The applicant or the applicant’s family must have been a member of the RMCHB for one or more years.  If the applicant recently moved to Colorado, consideration will be given to previous Hutchinson Bell membership status. 
    $1,000 award will be split over two semesters.  In order to receive the second half of the scholarship, the applicant must maintain a 2.0 GPA and be in good standing with the Dean’s Office.


Scholarship #2: The Colorado Mountain Merit Scholarship.  

  • This special scholarship is designed to recognize those who are overcoming difficult financial obstacles and/or have achieved high measurements of student excellence.  The RMCHB will earmark funds annually for this scholarship.  The Scholarship Committee will, in its sole discretion, determine how to distribute the earmarked funds among the students determined to be among that year’s recipients. 

  • Deadline for submission: May 1 before applicant’s first year at Florida College. 

  • In order to protect personal privacy, “Financial Need” must be established by a letter from the Florida College Admissions or Financial Aid Departments. 

  • The applicant must be accepted by Florida College. 

  • The applicant or the applicant’s family must have been a member of the RMCHB for one or more years.  If the applicant recently moved to Colorado, consideration will be given to previous Hutchinson Bell membership status. 

  • Awards will be announced no later than June 1.  Awards will be paid directly to FC, and will be split over two semesters.  In order to receive the second half of the scholarship, the applicant must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing with the Dean’s Office.

 

Scholarship #3: The Colorado Summit Scholarship. 

  • This special scholarship is designed to aid deserving applicants in finishing their climb to the summit of completing their Florida College degree.  The RMCHB will earmark funds annually for this scholarship.  The Scholarship Committee will, in its sole discretion, determine how to distribute the earmarked funds among the students determined to be among that year’s recipients. 

  • The deadline for submission: April 1 before the applicant’s second, third or fourth year at Florida College. 

  • Consideration will be given to financial need and merit in the same way it is for the Mountain Merit Scholarship. 

  • Awards will be announced no later than May 1.  Awards will be paid directly to the college, and will be split equally over two semesters.  The second semester’s award is contingent upon the applicant maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA and being in good standing with the Dean’s Office.
